Breeding and Training The Best
Amelia Baxter, based in Saint Jo, Texas, strives to breed the best of the best, breeding Champions to high quality, health tested dogs. She believes that temperament, biddability, trainability, drive, nose, health and soundness are mandatory attributes in her breeding program. She wants all of her dogs to be powerful, aggressive and stylish in the field but docile enough to be in the house and on the couch.At Bad Habit Gundogs, we truly think our clients deserve a real deal trial dog or hunting partner who also plays the most important role as the family pet.
Her track record speaks for itself, winning the 2024 Hogan Award for Top Professional Handler, several National Placements, several Field Champions and many Phenomenal Gundogs she believes in her training methods. She doesn’t have a “One Program Fits All” style, instead tailors her training to suit each dog’s individual personality and develop them at their own pace to achieve the highest level possible.

Our pups are raised around kids and are well socialized. We match personality with the right lifestyles, either family and hunting homes, or competitive field trialers.
